“Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo astronaut, making it an important part of America’s journey into space.”
Aviation Heritage Park is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the park features aircraft connected to military service, space exploration, and aviation pioneers.

According to the park, the exhibits include “aircraft telling the stories of Vietnam War aviators, a T-38 trainer flown by every Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronaut, and a Cub honoring an African American woman who trained the Tuskegee Airmen.” That focus on personal stories is what makes the experience so meaningful.

One of the highlights of the park is the T-38 trainer. This aircraft was flown by every Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo astronaut, making it an important part of America’s journey into space.
Another important display is the Piper Cub that honors an African American woman who trained the Tuskegee Airmen. It recognizes a part of aviation history that many people may not know and gives deserved recognition to those who helped prepare these pilots for service.
