Tessa & Will’s Black-and-White Engagement Session at the Parthenon

“I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Tessa and Will since 2022, so returning for this session felt extra special.”

When Tessa told me she wanted a black-and-white session, I immediately started thinking about light, texture, and mood. For her engagement photos, I knew the Parthenon would be the perfect location, especially around 10 a.m., when the sunlight streams just right through the columns.

That morning, the light was magical. Instead of just illuminating the pillars, it created long, dramatic shadows that danced across the marble. This interplay of light and dark adds a cinematic feel to every frame, creating a backdrop that feels timeless, elegant, and full of emotion. Black-and-white photography captures that contrast beautifully, allowing the raw connection between Tessa and Will to shine without distraction.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Tessa and Will since 2022, so returning for this session felt extra special. Over the years, I’ve watched their love grow, and it’s always a joy to capture those authentic moments—the laughter, the quiet glances, and the way they naturally lean into each other.

Shooting at the Parthenon that morning reminded me why I love black-and-white photography. The dramatic lighting transforms the scene into something almost cinematic, and the timeless beauty of the location pairs perfectly with the love these two share.

Tessa and Will’s session is a perfect example of how the right time, place, and light can elevate a photoshoot from beautiful to unforgettable. Every shadow, every highlight, and every moment between them tells a story—one that will be cherished for years to come.
