“The Folklore dating back to the 1950’s”

The intersection of Devil’s Hollow and Knight Road in Indiana, hangs one devilish abundance of….shoes.

The Old tree standing is smothered with thousands of shoes. The Folklore dating back to the 1950’s have given many theories as to why the shoes started hanging around.

The first and most terrifying is that the first shoes left are of a murdered victim. Other Stories are of soldiers leaving shoes once retiring from the military and even stories of Larry Byrd hanging a few shoes for luck. Locals however  believe that it started with a few boys leaving wet shoes to dry after a dip in the local creek.

No matter the origin, generations of shoes hang from the tree and clutter the gound like a shoe graveyard.
