“There’s no crying in Baseball”
Built in 1894, this vintage stadium is one of the few ballparks in the country that transports visitors back to the golden era of baseball. Its significance skyrocketed when it became a primary filming location for the iconic 1992 film A League of Their Own, starring Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, and Madonna.

Originally constructed to serve the local community, League Stadium underwent a major transformation in the early 1990s. For A League of Their Own, filmmakers sought a location that embodied the classic charm of mid-20th century baseball, and Huntingburg’s stadium fit the bill.

The stadium was revamped to reflect the 1940s era, complete with vintage advertisements, wooden bleachers, and a hand-operated scoreboard. After filming wrapped, the local community embraced the stadium’s new identity, keeping many of the movie’s nostalgic touches intact.

It serves as the home field for the Dubois County Bombers, a collegiate summer baseball team. The Bombers embrace the stadium’s vintage charm, even wearing throwback uniforms that add to the nostalgic atmosphere.

Game days are a unique blend of competitive baseball and family-friendly entertainment, often featuring themes inspired by A League of Their Own. The League Stadium is home to the Bombers.
