The first Kentucky Fried Chicken

“It was originally called Sanders Court & Café”

The first Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant was established in Corbin, Kentucky, in 1930 by Colonel Harland Sanders.

Located inside a gas station, it was originally called Sanders Court & Café. Sanders developed his signature recipe of 11 herbs and spices during this time,

which became the cornerstone of the KFC brand. In 1956, the original location was relocated due to a highway rerouting, but the original site remains a tourist attraction today, known as the Harland Sanders Café and Museum.
